Cafe Sperl.
This is one of my favorite cafes in all of Vienna.!!
I painted here on a regular basis. The people who run this place are nice and always had a kind smile for me.
The deserts were terrific too and I recommend this cafe to anyone visiting Vienna.
This painting will be shown in my upcoming exhibition in Vienna and I will have more information later.

Oow what a treat,
Judd is painting cafes again!!!!
I only wonder what kind of a technique you use and what size it is, you forgot to mention it.
Lovely, lovely, lovely !!
Hi rene.
I do forget to mention sizes and medium... sorry about that.
This one is 9 x 12 inches and it's oil on board.
Cheers.... Andrew
this is great, I just love the atmosphere and color harmony
Thanks Todd.
I always apreciate the compliments.
Cheers... Andrew
And this one is one of my favourite paintings of yours. I think you have captured the mood of the Viennese Kaffeehäuser so well. By the way I was at Café Jelinek just the other day, but nobody was there painting. ;-)
Servus...Stefan!
Hi Stefan. I miss painting in Vienna alongside you.
I hope you will take your paints to a cafe and do some images there as well. I really like the work you are doing in the museum lately and can't wait to see some more work.
Cheers... Andrew
Stunning!
I love the limited color palette and the sense of atmospheric 'mystery'.
Your brushstrokes are very lyrical and bodacious.
I can picture myself sitting at one of the tables, sipping on a gourmet hot coco and listening to the soothing rain outside......hmmmmm.
Thanks Jennifer!!
I think we should get a whole group of artists to go to Vienna and paint there. Stefan and I are planning a workshop in September if everything goes well. Maybe you could join us?
I think you'd do some amazing paintings of these places.
Cheers... Andrew
I would love to join you!
Thank you for asking.
When the time nears, let me know your itinerary and hopefully (depending on my schedule around then) I will be able to make it. :-)
Shows how a limited palette can be effective. Nice!
Thanks William..
I find less is more sometimes and these old places are all covered with a warm ochre stain of nicotine.
This cafe isn't as bad as some that way though.
Cheers.... Andrew
Andrew.. very nice piece. The warm liquidy colours really capture that cafe atmosphere IMO.
Mike
Thanks Michael. I really like this cafe and it is always fun to paint here.
Cheers... Andrew
