Here's a fantasy image painted from my head. Somehow it seemed appropriate as I think about the new year ahead... finding my way along life's road.. journeying to foreign lands in search of beauty, inspiration and adventure. Slaying dragons and saving the world ...

What an appropriate post to start 2007 with. :-)
I think as artists we know all too well the obstacles we need to overcome on our path of creativity and personal transformation.
This painting has a resonating and profound message, as well as beautiful color balance and movement.

You are so right about obstacles! A lot of people (I think) just imagine the life of an artist as ideal. We do what we love and that is by far the best part of our lives but it does come at a price both financially and sometimes personally. I believe it takes a great deal of integrity to pursue a dream that is different from the mainstream.
